The iPhone 15 will use the new Periscope lens
South Korea-based Jahwa Electronics recently announced plans to build a 150 million plant to produce a new optical image stabilization (OIS) equator, according to a new report from Theale. Significantly, Apple inspected the company's new facilities in the first half of last year. Jahwa Electronics is likely to receive a large amount of investment in the coming days as part of the deal, which means that Apple may soon purchase these new OIS actuators for the upcoming iPhones.
By the way, looking at this timeline, it can be guessed that the periscopic telephoto lens will be available in the devices of next year's iPhone series. Because Apple usually asks its suppliers to build a dedicated production line, Which will be reserved for their organization only. And the new site that Jahwa Electronics plans to build in Gumi has to be approved by Apple and it could take up to a year to complete. There has been speculation for some time that Apple plans to use a periscopic telephoto lens for their upcoming smartphones. So hopefully, this camera technology will finally be seen in next year's iPhone 15 lineup.
Earlier reports said that the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro model will have this camera sensor. However, later news reports gave another indication. Note that a periscopic telephoto lens usually provides greater zoom capability due to the folded or folded telephoto setup inside the smartphone. Thus, higher optical zoom and improved hybrid zoom are expected to be seen in future iPhone models.
