The wait is over. India has entered a new era of mobile services. Discussions have been going on for a long time as to when the 5G network will be launched in India. Finally came the sixth day of Durga Puja
.
5G technology was inaugurated in India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. This service will be launched in some major cities of the country in the initial phase. After that, the entire country will be able to use this advanced technology within the next two years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the 5G service at the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi today.
India's leading telecom operators such as Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, and Airtel will also showcase their technology demos at the event. 5G services will enable consumers to do many things that were never possible with any wireless network before.
Telecom sector experts claim that 5G technology will prove to be very profitable for India. Between 2023 and 2040, the country's economy will generate about $500 million in additional revenue from 5G technology alone.
5G spectrum was recently auctioned in India. Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone V, and Adani Group participated in it. The Department of Telecommunication received bids of Rs 1.5 lakh crore during this auction. However, Mukesh Ambani's company Reliance Jio got the highest bid for the 5G spectrum in the auction.
In the first phase, this service will be provided in 13 major cities of the country. The service will be available in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. However, the service will start in four major cities of the country: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
However, customers in the rest of the cities will have to wait a little longer to get 5G services. Telecom companies have said that the 5G tariff will not be much higher than the 4G tariff. So customers don't have to spend much to get 5G service.
Reliance Jio aims to launch 5G services across India by the end of 2023. This technology is expected to be about 10 times faster than 4G connections. As a result, any large file, movie, or song can be downloaded in seconds. Also, 5G users will be ahead in the field of e-health and metaverse.
