In its next devices, OnePlus will employ the newest AI-based processor from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 is the new processor. Mid-range gadgets are the main focus of its design.
The majority of consumers today favour flagship CPUs in smartphones, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm has recently put more of an emphasis on producing CPUs for smartphones at lower price points.
Large language models like Gemini Nano and Lama Two, as well as other on-device AI applications, can be executed by the robust AI engine of the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor. This will also enable developers and phone manufacturers to add sophisticated AI features to more reasonably priced smartphones.
These days, there is more competition to offer AI technology for smartphones of all kinds, not only flagship models. Google recently announced that hardware constraints will prevent the Pixel 8 from receiving some AI functions. However, Qualcomm believes that with CPUs like the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3, they will be able to resolve the issue.
An even distribution of CPU cores is used in the construction of the new A-series chipset. This comprises four performance cores clocked at 2.6 GHz, three efficiency cores clocked at 1.9 GHz, and a prime core clocked at 2.8 GHz. Nonetheless, Qualcomm claims that the new chip's GPU would perform 45 percent better than the one from the previous version.
OnePlus has declared that the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm will be used in its smartphone first. With this chipset, the company will concentrate on advancing AI, photography, and gaming.
