On July 1st, SIM cards will have new regulations be aware of them now to avoid risk.

The SIM card regulations have been released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The SIM card has undergone significant alteration since the start of this year. Two months later, TRAI made a fresh choice. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, this law would go into effect nationwide on July 1st of this year.

• Why new rules are introducing by TRAI?

Preventing online fraud is the true motivation behind TRAI's decision to impose the new regulations. To stop internet fraud, the government is moving in the right direction step by step. However, prevention is not possible, not even in that case. That makes this the new guideline. But in that scenario, it might be challenging for regular folks.

What are the new TRAI regulations?

This action has been taken, per TRAI, to stop fraud. As per the recently implemented regulations by TRAI, in the event that a SIM card is "swapped," customers will not be allowed to "port" their number—that is, move it to another telecom carrier. due to the rise of SIM swapping fraud incidents in recent times. Under the pretense of misplacing the phone, the con artist in this case effortlessly obtains a new SIM card, PAN card, and Aadhaar card photo. TRAI has made this judgment in order to prevent it from happening going forward.

The new telecom bill went into effect at the start of the year as well. The guidelines for mobile SIM cards have also been modified as a result. Additionally, before sending a message to a consumer, the telecom provider is required by law to obtain the consent of the customer. In January of this year, this was said. And the businesses are now abiding with that regulation.
